Which cutting board material is the best? In this video, I tested wood, bamboo, plastic, composite, rubber, stainless steel, and titanium. You’ll see how each one affects your knives, how sanitary they are, how loud they sound when chopping, and how easy they are to maintain. By the end, you’ll know which type of board makes the most sense for your kitchen.

I’m curious – what kind of cutting board do you use most at home, and how do you like it?
My bamboo is fantastic, about 16mm thick and solid , holds it’s shape, no smells. Seems fine to me, cost $10. Several years ago, and it’s easy to clean 😊 other boards look varnished
Fantastic video!
Properly managed, a Larchwood board will last you a lifetime. Best board out there. Many chefs online use them.
I don’t care about noise.
I’m not cooking in the bedroom in the middle of the night.
I don’t care about knife dulling since if you want sharp knives you sharpen them regularly anyway.
I don’t care about weight because I’m not carrying the board around on a necklace all day.
What I do care about is not having microplastics in my food.
And not having carcinogenic glues from bamboo chopping boards.
I also care about food safety and plastic boards have been shown to be more dangerous when it comes to bacteria colonisation and growth between uses.
Glass and titanium are just gimmicky trends.
So that leaves me with wood boards.
And which wood board might be the best.
And teak seems to be the best.
